PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS

SC GEAR UP works with 17 schools in 15 school districts and 13 counties and serves over 4,300 students across the state. To receive services, schools met all of the following criteria:

• At least 50 percent of the students receive free or reduced price lunches
• At least 75 percent of the students at the poverty rate (as determined by the State Education Oversight Committee)
• More than 30 percent of the students score “Below Basic” in English/language arts and math in standardized testing.
